Communications Carriers Inbound call connection issues

We have had reports of inbound calls failing to complete to some numbers.

We been made aware of a fiber cut in Chicago, IL that is impacting IP traffic and they are in the process of working this matter. Per our provider: The Level 3 IP Network Operations Center (NOC) responded to alarms indicating a possible fiber cut in Chicago, IL that is impacting IP traffic. The IP NOC is investigating at this time. The field technicians are working to fix this and we are awaiting more information with the matter.

We have been advised that splicing has concluded at one of these fiber cuts.

We received word from Level3 at approximately 345pm EDT stating that traffic has been rerouted around the affected fiber span in order to restore service, which we were able to confirm. Since this time traffic should be working as expected.
